Volunteers Needed for Iris Collection Maintenance Project!
Join us in August for an exciting opportunity to help maintain our beautiful Iris collection at Powell Gardens. We're planning a large maintenance project to divide our Irises, ensuring they thrive for years to come.
Project Details:
- TASK: Dividing the Iris collection to prevent overcrowding (a regular maintenance task done every three years).
- Location: Full sun area, so be prepared for physical activity.
- Dates: Monday mornings (7:00-11:00)
- Alternative Days: If Mondays don't work for you, we can also accommodate groups or individuals on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
Incentives:
- Volunteers will have the opportunity to take home some of the divided Iris plants.
- Gain hands on experience in garden maintenance and contribute to the beauty of our grounds.
How to Participate:
- No experience necessary! Just bring your sunscreen, bug spray, water, and enthusiasm and willingness to work outdoors.
