Help bring the magic of the holidays to life at Powell Gardens! Volunteer Partners will assist with the installation of Evergy Festival of Lights, one of our most beloved seasonal events. Volunteers will help hang and test lights, decorate garden areas, and prepare dazzling displays that will delight guests all season long. Each installation team shift will raise $300 for the nonprofit, school, or organization of your choice. Making this a wonderful way to give back while helping create a magical holiday experience for thousands of visitors. This opportunity is perfect for groups who enjoy working outdoors, getting creative, and spreading holiday cheer.

Dates:
November 3 – November 18, 2025 (various weekdays available)
Shift Time:
10:00 am – 3:00 pm (This is the preferred timeframe. Teams needing a different timeframe must obtain approval before registering by emailing Amanda.)
Team Size:
At least five (5) individuals per team required.
Team Leader Responsibilities:
Each team will have a
designated Team Leader responsible for coordinating the group. If a team
member is unable to attend, the Team Leader will arrange a replacement to
ensure the team remains fully staffed. Powell Gardens will communicate directly
with the Team Leader, who is then responsible for sharing information with
their team members.
Team Responsibilities:

Assist with hanging lights, setting up lighted displays, and decorating themed areas throughout the Gardens.

Work with Powell Gardens staff to ensure lighting and décor are installed safely and securely.

Help test lighting features to ensure all displays are working properly.

Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while working outdoors.
Inclement Weather Notice:
This volunteer opportunity involves outdoor work and may be impacted by weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, the Manager on Duty will contact you directly if a cancellation is necessary.
